You go at extreme speeds downhill and you also take part in various tricks and jumps too. This sport is certainly not for beginners since the chance of having an accident is very high. When you choose to enter races where you race an opponent, it is recognized as a dual slalom. You start with the same time as your opponent and race them from the bottom to the finish line. When racing against time you usually take part in the same course twice at least. The best time from that two race decide whether you qualified to the next round or not.

However there will always risk of injury even though you already wear the right protection gear on, this is because extreme downhill mountain biking can bring potential danger to the whole body. And it is not possible for you to protect every single part of your body.
